The Irish Road Trip

The Dingle Way is a long-distance trail in County Kerry, Ireland. The 162-kilometer-long circular route around the Dingle Peninsula begins and ends in Tralee, and is typically completed in eight days, crossing a mixture of roads, beaches, cliff paths, and mountains.

It is designated as a National Waymarked Trail by the National Trails Office of the Irish Sports Council. Starting along the towpath of the Tralee Ship Canal, the Dingle climbs up to a mountain track along the northern flanks of the Slieve Mish Mountains.

The latter section follows a cliff path around Slea Head before ascending a saddle between Brandon and Masatiompan mountains. At 2,100 feet (640 meters), this is the highest point reached by any of the National Waymarked Trails in Ireland.

Descending to Fermoyle Strand, Ireland's longest beach, the trail’s final stage follows the coastline to Camp before retracing the outward route to Tralee.
