It seems appropriate to digest the delicious dessert and ruminate on the experience.

There in front of me was the city of Santiago with the cathedral spires in sight.

Every step I took was getting me closer to my final destination.

The crowds thinned a little the further we got from the city.

We were all very grateful for this important information.

There were a few steep hills to climb but they passed quickly. 

The weather was perfect and the scenery was fabulous.

Most of the miles for the day were already behind me, so I toured the walled city for a while.

I didn't get a hundred yards before the skies opened up.

Remaining unplugged provided plenty of time for introspection.

When I finally got to the trail it was really a wonderful thing to see.

I was looking forward to something more scenic today.

Today was going to be a little different.

I could see the ocean for the first time off to the west.

A hot breakfast would have been nice on a cold rainy morning. 

The sky was mostly clear as the sun crept into view.

It was obviously a well-traveled route for the locals.

The news reported that this was a big year for flies.

The day was not so much about scenery as it was about people.

I have traveled a little more than 130 miles so far.
